A Moment Before the Next Mile

The skyline flushed with colors of hope,
Morning blaze cutting through, no need to grope.
As the celestial breeze of the new year drifts,
Pause to reminisce on treasures past, before focus shifts.
And while you resolve with grit and poise,
To turn a new leaf with ploys the mind deploys,
Take a moment to thank those who truly cared,
Who helped you through all that you endured and fared.
Reflect, relate, learn, rejoice,
Bliss and contentment are always a choice.
For when you gauge the next mile to trek,
Measure too the stretch you’ve covered at the beck.
And then embrace the sunshine new,
Pull up your socks, and to yourself be true.
Let the promises you make for the days ahead
Be your North Star, as you bead life’s thread.
